I have been awarded lcwra and received a letter 26th may not stating when from or from which date. They said I would receive another message in journal 7 days later, it's now been around 6 weeks with no response from my journal messages I'm confused to when I'll get this help. I have been sending fit notes in with small gaps for around 10 months. I'm very confused and I'm not getting anywhere with the journal it's like I dont exist no more as I'm not fit to work.0

This is what they sent me on the 26th May...

I've heard nothing since and being totally ignored in my journal I've tried work coach, service issues and payments all with no reply.0

Award letters are always very basic. IT does say in the letter "if we owe you money, you'll receive another letter on your journal" There’s a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is paid from the 4th month after you first reported your health condition. It’s not paid at all during this time.
A few questions are needed before I can advise further.
What date exactly did you report your health condition? And did you send fit notes without any gaps until a decision was made?
What date do you usually receive your money each month?0 -
Hello @keithgell85 and welcome to the community, it's nice to see you join us.
This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
I have moved your thread over to our Universal Credit category, which you might find it helpful to browse for related discussions.

Hi Poppy
Yes so I've looked at my journal and they did ask for a fit note from 27/01/22 which I provided to fill the gap from there. I was sanctioned for months for not attending because of my mental health. I did disclose my condition to them but they still sanctioned and I've done an MR which I've heard nothing either I understand it takes 6 months. I'm currently living on £251 a month I'm struggling to get by every end of month. I get payed on the 14th every month. There have been no gaps in my fit notes since January 27th 2022 that seems the first ti.e I reported the condition. This fitnote was backdated from May by my doctor. Thanks Poppy
Attached is what I've received from dwp in the last few months to live on while I was diagnosed with a mental health condition which I now attend therapy for...

Seems they are taking 25% from me because of advance payments which need to be paid back0

Yes, an advance is a loan.keithgell85 said:Seems they are taking 25% from me because of advance payments which need to be paid back0 -
If they accept you reported your health on 27 Jan you would be eligible for the LCWRA element from the 14th June payment.
However the fact that you provided the Fit Note late may go against you.
When you get your July statement check to see if the LCWRA element has been included.0 -

This fitnote was backdated from May by my doctor. So there was a gap in your fit note. If you reported your health condition but didn't send a fit note until May, which was backdated then this has likely gone against you. When you report a health condition the rules are that you must report a fit note within 7 days of this. If you don't then it will affect the waiting period.Had you sent the fit note when they asked you to in January then your first LCWRA payment would have been this month. As you didn't do this until May then it will be either Sept/Oct that you will receive your first payment, depending on the exact date you did finally report the fit note. You can put a message onto your journal under the payment section and ask about the waiting period starting from the date the fit note was backdated to but it will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision.Edit to add, sorry calcotti, i didn't see your last comment when i was typing my reply.0

Thankyou Calcotti I'll wait til my statement comes through in 2 days. Also what's the best way to find out because the journal seems redundant no replies ever I may as well send an email to myself haha0

Thanks Poppy
I shall do that again and yes it does make sense but why am I searching on here for answers when its them that need to tell me this I appreciate this forum I'm getting answers immediately thankyou so much. The system with DWP is a sham I cant believe how people are getting treated just pure ignorance on their part. Why cant they be like you guys here straight answers.
Thanks again!0 -
They don't usually tell you when it's paid from. The decision letter says "if we owe you money" because they are standard letters.I see your payment information for this month is already showing on that screenshot and that amount isn't enough for the LCWRA element to have been added this month.0

Hi Poppy
I didn't even notice that they already had July payment on there thankyou for noticing. You may be correct in saying September time. I wont hold my breathe on that. So I'll get 4 months payment in September or?0 -

No, because the extra money isn't paid at all during the waiting period. See link. https://www.entitledto.co.uk/help/Long-term-health-condition-or-disability-Universal-Credit
