Hi,
I had my work assessment on the 22nd June and on the 4th July I had a letter in my journal to say I was awarded the lwrca entitlement. I first declared a health change on the 21st march 2022 and a sicknote on the 21st march which ended on the 21st April 2022. I didn't hand anymore sicknotes and my case manager said to carry on working until my assessment . My assessment period is from the 18th to the 17th every month. I was just wondering if anyone knows when my first payment will be and if I'll be backdated any money. I've rang universal credit and they don't have a clue. Also messaged my case manager and she never replies. I'm just very confused.
Thank you

When you report a health condition the rules are that you're supposed to continue to send in fit notes without any gaps until the decisions been made on your work capability assessment. Was there any reason why you didn't continue to send the fit notes? Before your fit note ended you should have had reminders on your journal that you needed to report another fit note. This could affect when the waiting period applies from and it will be down to a decision maker to make the final decision. There's a full 3 month assessment period waiting time and the extra money is then paid from the 4th month after you first reported your health condition. If they go from your first fit note then your waiting period will be April/May, May/June, June/July.. LCWRA starts from July 18th - 17th August and first payment will be 24th August. If the decision maker decides that you should have continued to send fit notes and doesn't accept this then your waiting period will be June/July, July/August, August/Sept... LCWRA payable from October 24th 2022.I'd advise you to post a message onto your journal under the payment section and ask when the LCWRA element is paid from.Either way, no LCWRA element is owed.If you didn't previously have the work allowance, then you will now also have this, which means you can earn a certain amount of money each assessment period before the 55% deductions apply. This usually starts from the assessment period in which you reported your health condition but again not continuing to send the fit notes may affect this.0

I was told by my case manager that I didn't need to continue sending in fit notes and I didn't have any notifications on my journal for a new fit note.0
