Hi @SARAHSMITH_1984 your profile picture is awesome!

I'm so sad for you that they treated you badly. I've wanted to try local groups but always been scared to and more I hear they just sound cliquey and not my cup of tea.

Do you and your partner plan to marry soon or just happy engaged for now? 3 pre-teen boys close in age must keep you very busy!!!!

Welcome to the community from me too @SARAHSMITH_1984 :) Thanks for joining, and for telling us a bit about yourself!

I'm also sorry to hear that you had that experience when trying to attend local groups and events. Have you had a look to see whether there are any social groups for disabled people in your area? They can be a bit more accessible. If you're not sure where to look, your local authority might be able to help.

I hope that you can connect with some likeminded people here on the community. The coffee lounge is a great place to take part in some casual chat and games. You can see the other kinds of topics we discuss here on the categories page.

Hey @SARAHSMITH_1984! 😎 Welcome to the Scope online community!! It is fantastic to find out a bit about you and thank you for sharing your story with us 🙂.

I hope you have a positive experience here and get the opportunity to meet kind and interesting people.

I really like the profile photo! Sorry you had negative experiences in the past at local groups. It takes courage to accept living with a disability and everyone deserves to feel connected.

Have you got anything nice planned for the weekend?

I agree @SARAHSMITH_1984. I always find heat helpful for fibro so I tend to struggle less in the summer than in the winter. In a way, the summer is a relief. However, as you say, that rule doesn't apply every day as it is unpredictable  <3
