I've received a text message today from DWP saying they haven't made a decision regarding my claim. I first rand in February they received my claim in April and had my interview 2 weeks ago. I rang yesterday and the gentleman said it was with a case manager. Could anyone tell me how long I will have to wait for a decision and if I'm lucky enough receive my first payment. Tia

Hi and welcome to the community A decision can take 2 to 12 weeks sometime longer
You will get backpay once decision is made usually before you get the award letter if you are awarded1 -
Hello @lynn768, can I ask if this is for PIP?
Decisions usually take anywhere between 2-12 weeks at the moment, sometimes longer, so I'm afraid it's a waiting game.
Well done for getting through your assessment, that's the hard part done and dusted

Will do. I suffer from duprytrons syndrome, osteoarthritis, rhuematoid arthritis and asthma0

PIP isn't awarded based on any diagnosis. It's how those conditions affect you against the 12 PIP activities.

Thanks for sharing which conditions you have with us @lynn768 Do you have enough support to help you manage those at the moment?
Best wishes for your claim!0 -
Thank you for your reply that was lovely to ask if I have enough support. I'm very lucky my husband does everything for me down to sorting out my medication as my hands are now very weak.
That made me think there are still some lovely people out there in this world0 -
I'm glad that your husband is a good source of support for you @lynn768 That can make all the difference!1

Hi l had a text on Friday 29th July to say lve been awarded pip. My question is should be expecting my first payment by the following Thursday? I called DWP to get an automated date that my next pip payment would be on 25th August. Will my first payment be wrapped up with my next payment date or will the two payments occur separately? (If what lm saying makes any sense?)
It is shortly approaching the date of the first payment where in 4 weeks time, my first regular pip payment will start. Oh l am so confused especially as the funds apparently arrive in your bank before the award letter.
Ps apologies for jumping in and probably not getting the right post/thread. Not entirely sure where l should post my comment. If l get some response, firstly it will be much appreciated, secondly, may help someone who needs to know the same info I'm enquiring about. I Again please accept my apologies for the long read x

I Again please accept my apologies for the long read xMoney owed is paid first, which is 3-5 workings days after money is sent to you. The money owed will be paid up until a certain date and then your first 4 weekly payment will be 4 weeks later. When you receive the decision letter it will explain everything.0
