Hi @peaceofmind and welcome to the online community
This is a very supportive and welcoming site to be a part of so I’m hopeful that you’ll find it to be a positive outlet. Feel free to have a look around and get involved wherever you’d like 😊 I have included below a few of the pages I’d recommend having a look through to get used to things:
- The virtual coffee lounge which is one of our categories, in which we play games and talk about general subjects such as hobbies and interests
- The recent discussions page, which shows an overview of everything happening across the community
- The categories page, which shows a full list of discussion groups on the community
If you have any questions at all then don’t hesitate to ask.
Thank you for speaking so honestly about what you have been through and how you feel. It can be difficult to open up, but often doing so can be the first step taken towards better things.
Have you discussed your situation with anybody else in order to potentially get some support? For example, if you haven't already it might be worth getting in touch with your GP to see if they can provide any support to help you manage your mental health. NHS talking therapy could be one of the options for you to consider, is it something you have taken part in before?
Additionally, you can access services like Samaritans any time on 116 123 or utilise any of the information pages on the Mind website such as this one about what you can do to help yourself cope right now.
I will shortly be sending you an email from community@scope.org.uk to see if we can support you with a couple of other items you mentioned in your post, it would be great if you could keep an eye out for it and get back to us

Thank you for your kindness and support. I appreciate your email too. Wasn’t sure where to reply so chose here for ease. I appreciate your concern. I am undergoing and aiming for further professional support however it is the support in the non therapeutic times that is often most valuable and at times when I’m on my own that is most needed to keep going. I’ll check out the other resources thank you.I apologise if I alarmed anyone in any way.0

There's no need to apologise, don't worry @peaceofmind
The wellbeing of all members is important to us, so we just wanted to reach out to see if we can support you in any way.
It can be frustrating when we don't get as much support at the times we need it most. Perhaps you could see whether there are any local groups or services you could join to receive support on an ongoing basis? The Hub of Hope is a useful resource to find things like that.1 -
thank you. I’ll take a look. I appreciate your kindness and support0

You are welcome @peaceofmind. It is the very least you deserve. Please feel free to let us know how you get on. If we can do anything else to help, please don't hesitate to let us know1

Hello @peaceofmind I hope you're enjoying your weekend, and I'm glad to see that you feel so supported here on the community
Did you manage to find any local support groups through Hub of Hope at all?0 -
I had a look thank you. The majority are quite a journey for me and takes a big amount of time out, which brings huge stress and cost too with either bus or fuel although I wouldn’t drive into the city. I have been receiving 1 hour therapy at specific charity in the city but it’s proving all too much to manage with all it entails and don’t feel it’s beneficial anymore.
I am very proactive in these decades of struggle and will always endeavour to seek out and work hard. Sadly in a phase of greater struggle and depression and feeling beyond much of my effort level and ability to manage right now however hard I try.I am in a queue for Community MH Team right now. Hoping this happens soon.0 -
Okay, thanks for taking the time to let us know @peaceofmind we appreciate it
I can see why deciding to step back from travelling for support is a decision you've made, not only because of the costs involved, but also the toll it has on your mental health.
I am sure you do work hard to work through any struggles you are having, and that is positive, but you are also worthy of taking a break when needed. I think that's quite a healthy thing.
And I hope you can access support from the community mental health team soon as well.
Do let us know if there's anything you feel we can lend a hand with, and keep us updated when you can.1 -
Thank you Alex for your acknowledgment and validation.I’ll be grateful for the local support and I hope to make more use of your services for support and chat on here. I am very appreciative of the help I get from scope with my work support lady. Just amazing. Sadly I’m not working at present but she is a constant source of help to get back to work and stay in work as best as possible.0

I'm so glad to hear that you've been finding our services so helpful @peaceofmind
Thank you for the kind words.
