Why?
What is the point of this letter? It means nothing! The last message I got from the DWP said “We have not yet made a decision on your claim. We will write to you when we have made a decision.”

This isn’t a decision though. So they lied. This is just pointless, unnecessary, junk mail.

Completely agree. All is does is cause more unwanted anxiety because a decision can still take up to 12 weeks.

How frustrating @Rin1472 Hopefully, you'll receive the real update soon! Got my fingers crossed for you. If we can do anything to help in the meantime, please don't hesitate to give us a shout0

The amount of money they must waste on these pointless letters I wonder if their justification is that it stops people calling to ask what stage their claim is at, but these letters actually cause more worry0

The reason for the new text updates is to stop people from calling. I think it’s pointless in December when I get a letter saying ‘We’re sending you a £10 Christmas Bonus’ and I get the letter after it’s all over. The fees to send it and send the payment must surely be getting closer and closer to £10 every year.0

Yes totally I don't get that letter either such a waste!0
