Hello, my name is Andra and I am a carer to my Mum. Hoping to get advice in the community and to offer support in return as I have some experience with filling in forms and other needs.

    It's great to have you on board. Thank you for telling us a bit about yourself, and why you've joined the community. How do you find caring for your mum? 

    You're welcome to take a look around, and get stuck in. Here are some good places to start:
    It'd be great to see you offering some advice and support based on your own experiences. You're of course welcome to ask for any support you might need from us, too! We're a friendly bunch, so I'm sure you'll fit right in.

    Thank you for asking! I'm doing alright for the time being. I've just filled in and sent off Mum's PIP review form and have the usual anxiety if I did a good enough job or not.

    Thank you so much for such a helpful response! I'm really lucky that caring for Mum is easy, she's a good egg and goes out of her way to not stress me too much. I like being a carer and feel pretty good about the job I'm doing. The heatwave has been awful and I am now looking into getting air conditioning for our living room so that the next wave won't be such a huge health risk for both of us.

    It sounds like you and your mum get on well @andrafilipescu :) Yes, the heatwave has been pretty unpleasant, and dangerous for many people! Air conditioning sounds like a good idea to me.
