I am 63 years old and have choreoathetoid cerebral Palsy which affects my right side.
My left leg is hampered by Arachnoiditis, blamed on the drug myodil which I was given mid 1960s.  I worked for 34 years in an accounts department of a newspaper publisher before being made redundant in 2011.  Unfortunately I have not worked since.  I am married with two grown up offspring.

Hi @nmcmurdo :) Thank you for introducing yourself!

How do you find living with cerebral palsy (CP) and arachnoiditis?

I'm sorry to hear that you haven't worked since. Are you looking to get back to work? I can imagine working for a newspaper publisher was quite interesting.

Regarding work, to be honest I haven't looked for a long time.  Since December last year, my wife has been t one point I was warned that I was may loose her. I do not like my situation now, regarding the disability.   I used to be very independent but since my mobility has decreased greatly, this is no longer the case.  Very frustrating.  I working in finance but it was still interesting working for a newspaper publisher, intitially for a regional news publisher which the got taken over by a much bigger set up.

Has your wife been unwell @nmcmurdo? If so, I'm sorry to hear that. How's she doing now?

I can imagine it'd be difficult to feel like your level of independence has reduced. Are you able to use any mobility aids or equipment to help you get around and complete activities more easily?
