Welcome to the community @needle123 :) It's great to have you on board! How's your weekend been going so far?

It's great to hear that you're keen to offer some support, as well as receive it. Is there anything in particular you wanted to give or receive support on?

You're welcome to get stuck straight in to the community whenever you're ready. You can see the kinds of topics we discuss on the categories page, and our list of the most recent discussions will show you what our members are talking about right now.

If you'd like to connect with new people through some casual conversation and games, our coffee lounge is the place to be!

    Hi Tori
thanks for your reply it’s all a bit daunting starting something new but this seems like a good place.
I guess I’m struggling to come to terms with my disabilities which have always been there but a recent fall has set me back.
Feel stronger some days than others but I’m sure many people out there have had similar experiences

That's understandable @needle123. It can be tough when events make us feel like we've taken a few steps back. Have you been able to pinpoint why the fall felt like a setback?

How have you been feeling physically and mentally since having the fall? Are you receiving enough support to help you manage things at the moment?

Yes, this is something other members have mentioned too, so you're in good company :)

We're a friendly bunch, so I'm sure you'll settle in in no time. If you need any support finding your way around, please just let us know.

Yeah I broke my hip and on top of my other disabilities it really been the last straw.
Ive made good progress but I guess I’m just impatient and frustrated at not managing to do what I used to.
Honestly shouldn’t complain as I’ve had all the services supporting me.
Not the most patient person in the world!

I think I'd probably feel the same way too @needle123. It's never a nice feeling to not feel you can do things in the same way that you used to.

I'm glad that you've had plenty of support, though, which I hope will aid you in your recovery.

Have they given you a timeframe on how long it might take to recover from your broken hip?
