Hello and welcome @floss29 and thanks for reaching out with your query. I've moved your post over into our Cerebral Palsy category so that it's easier for other members to share their thoughts with you
I have CP myself and I have not had any surgery to my knowledge, when I was younger, school age, I believe I was offered surgery that would move my knee caps around, but I declined at the time, because I didn't feel comfortable with the idea.
Would you be able to explain what SDR surgery involves, just so that I can understand more fully?
I'm going to tag our CP information officer @Richard_Scope, who I'm sure would be happy to chat more about this as well.
What are your feelings on the surgery at the moment?
In the meantime, please feel free to have a look around the rest of the forum whenever you are ready.
You can find all the latest conversations in our recent discussions category, all the different topics in our categories page, and you can meet and chat with other members over in our virtual coffee lounge too.
Let us know if we can help further with anything.

Hi @floss29
Great to meet you. Has your son been assessed for suitability? We have some information on SDR surgery that might be helpful. The critical thing about SDR is ensuring that the aftercare and physiotherapy are in place, post-surgery. Physiotherapy is so essential to good outcomes.
