I'm currently as we type disputing my sky fees with them, contract is up and being charged 35 a month for net only, I know bt do 20 pound a month deal, and have told them so, being a sky VIP means nothing today. See what negotiations bring, next will be my phone as contract is up on that too0

Sky has really gone down the drain lately with offers. I know things get more expensive over time but some of the increases they was proposing are atrocious.
Hope you manage to sort it but I agree that BT deal is fantastic if you’re eligible.0 -
Hi @bg844,
Once your mum’s contract is due for renewal with her new supplier again ring them, press the option for cancelling and she’ll be put through to someone who has the authority to arrange a new deal. Just explain that you’re cancelling due to the cost, don’t accept the first offer they come up with and they’ll make another one.
We do this all the time with them and get good deals every time.0 -
Hi @leeCal, I have iPhone and unlimited internet on my contract. So I go to settings on my phone open Personal Hotspot and go to my laptop 💻 and I press the icon on my Mac which you usually search for new network. I see network from my phone on it so I pair the devices together.

Thanks Karen.
We do this and connect to retentions although that one time in the 30 years it didn't happen. They was more than happy to send us the returns packaging quoting 'We are in no position to match the deal made by Virgin'. I was appalled but they are the ones loosing a customer after all.
I usually manage to get great deals for myself included but I guess it just depends on who you talk to0 -
I just saw that my favourite cheese is on offer for a good price.
Could save a lot of money.
But I decided to save even more money by not buying it at all!!!!Plus I’m on a diet.5 -
Cheese is our downfall @66Mustang1

@Karen7788 yes definitely!0

We have just, today got a Sky Glass TV on a very good deal, and are getting our Broadband through another supplier, much cheaper. This means that I can pay one bill, and my wife the other. We keep our finances as separate as possible, and help each other out when needed.
Are we worried about later in the year? Hell, yeah!1 -
The early bird gets the worm but it’s the second mouse who gets the cheese @66Mustang2

I’d like to find someone cheaper than talktalk myself.
Personally I think we’re all being ripped off.0 -
Well bt @leecal is 20 pound a month if you claim uc,
Terms and conditions apply so read small print. Sky want me to pay 37 for same as the deal bt offering, as in net speed etc. But there's lots of different companies offering different deals, my contract just ended so time to move on 4 me

I've recently moved to Plusnet for high speed fibre. The price is decent on the 18 month contract, but will shoot up the moment the contract finishes. The only way I've found to keep cheap internet is to keep changing provider at the end of each contract. I've also been with Sky, TalkTalk and Vodafone. Would avoid Vodafone at all costs now. Terrible service, and random dropouts lasting several days that no-one takes responsibility for. I rely on the internet every day and can't have an unreliable connection like that.
I must admit, I hadn't heard of the BT deal for benefits claimants. Have just checked and it does apply to ESA as well so that may well be next change next year.0 -
The one thing that really winds me up with broadband and phone companies is the price escalator where they increase your bill each year by inflation + 3.9%.
I am fine with them increasing it by inflation but why do they think they are more important than other sectors that they can increase it by an additional 3.9%?Don’t they realise if everyone did that inflation would be infinite?0 -
I've unplugged everything. I don't need clothes.I eat very little but well. I use Aldi now only, or late in the day for reduced prices.0

I do my best to find the yellow sticker bargains too @CMB0
