REAL bargains sound really good @Siwheels73. Would you like to tell us more about them?0
-
@L_Volunteer, only used goodtogo once BUT got about £35-worth of goodies for £4.00. Not much nutritional value(!), but we froze the majority and it lasted ages so good from a financial standpoint for treats we would have otherwise avoided.1
-
That is an incredible bargain @Siwheels73. Really important that people can continue to eat for cheaper prices! Not least with it lasting ages too. Everyone deserves treats too0

We get the approved food £1 lucky boxes. It a firm that set up to help save on food waste and sell short dated and just out of best before dated items direct to the public. Every so often they have £1 lucky boxes, they’re absolutely great, full of treats and other stuff. You can watch the unboxing of some of the £1 lucky boxes on YouTube or look at some of the reviews on their website.0

Approved Food is excellent. Also Discount Dragon, although their stock varies.0

We have pets too and have got great bargains on pet treats on Approved Food, it’s good because our pets can’t read the best before dates 😊0

Hi another tip for surviving financial crisis, inflation, economic, life crisis or help manage the budget is buying in Sainsbury fresh vegetables and fruits in the packages known as Imperfectly Perfect ( the fruit or vegetables are high quality but in the package are different varieties if sizes). Those Imperfectly Perfect fruits and vegetables packages are 3 x cheaper than the rest .0

That's a very good tip @iza thank you for sharing it0

When left over vegetables are a little passed their best, I make soup and freeze it into portions. Croutons made with not so very fresh left over bread and grate the last piece of cheese then add these to the soup when heated up.1
-
I have been making a few soups this way myself @Karen7788, the extra portions make great lunches when you need something quick and tasty0
-
Soup is such a good way of making a meal out of the sad looking veggies left behind in the fridge. I have been told not to use onions that have seen better days as they may affect the taste of your wonderful concoction !1
-
My mom made best broth soup, I'm yet to make it like hers. I love home made soups. Great way of getting veggies in.0
-
I always have a bag of frozen chopped onions in the freezer, they come in really handy for adding to dishes. Also when making soup I like to sauté the veg in butter first before adding the stock as it gives more flavour.0

The save water, save money website is good, you can get free water saving gadgets on it.0

I've recently been working out how much all of our electrical appliances cost to run based on the energy consumption and the price we are charged per kilowatt.
Some things are quite cheap. The kettle, while it costs a lot to run constantly, is obviously only on for a short time. I worked out it costs us about £0.01 to boil half a kettle of water.
My computer is the worst at £0.33 a day, I usually leave it on, so, from now on I will be switching it off when not in use!!0 -
I have reduced my Christmas giving list and I'm trying to avoid shopping online as they charged me £7 on delivery.0
-
we've been trying to help my grown up lads/family's - the last month we have been popping into charity shops and buying christmas jumpers, all sizes, save the family money for the Christmas jumper days etc x0
-
@durhamjaide2001 you can set up delivery pass which you pay each month and get as many deliveries as you like for fixed price works out a lot cheaper0
-
I've turned my heating down by 2 degrees yesterday as was coming on too much and was dreading the cost
Also keep lounge door closed as that's where thermostat is0
