PIP waiting time

Just sent off my son's PIP form. He has been on DLA for quite a while so very nervous. I am his appointee, so I'm hoping he won't be questioned at all. Is there any way to find out the processing time and will we get any texts to keep us informed?

If you have provided a mobile number you may get texts, decision times after assessment can be quite long but usually are between 2-12 weeks. The whole process can take some time but as your son’s appointee you will be able to answer any questions on his behalf should he require an assessment, although he may be required to be present.0

And to add DLA continues for 4 weeks after any PIP decision is made.0

If a face to face assessment is needed he will need to attend that with you. As advised, you will be able to answer all questions on his behalf. You could potentially be waiting several months and more. Sometimes they send a text to say they've received the form but not always.0
