Hi guys,
This was my first time applying for PIP, I didn’t even know I would be entitled to anything with me working but my Therapist told me to apply.
This was my first time applying for PIP, I didn’t even know I would be entitled to anything with me working but my Therapist told me to apply.
I suffer with severe PTSD, Anxiety, Depression.
I applied for PIP in May 2022 online, I submitted all reports from Therapist, OC Health workers & even work, I also gave them my Doctors / Mental Health Team Nurse’s address incase they need more evidence.

I received a call and a letter around Mid June to say I have a Phone Assessment on 20th July which I was suprised with as I thought it would have been longer wait.
I was so nervous leading up to this as I’m a very private person and I hate people knowing my business as I struggle with Trust issues. On the day my assessment only lasted around 22minutes which I managed to get everything out even though I didn’t write anything down as it wouldn’t let log back in my application once submitted only to upload evidence.
The day after on the 21st July I received a message saying they have my report, I then contacted them and asked for a copy of it which the woman said she will send straight out. After still waiting for the report I had this weird feeling to check my Bank account so I checked my account on the 05/08/22 and had a payment from PiP a little over £1200 which I was thrilled with.

I then contacted PIP as I was confused by the amount and what it was actually for… They responded by saying I was awarded 13 points on daily living and 10 points Mobility for following and planning a journey as I didn’t fill in the other question with me being able to walk but I do need someone with me at all times when I go out due to Anxiety, but didn’t think it would apply to me so I never filled it in.
I was shocked as I didn’t even expect anything and I didn’t want to get my hopes up. The day after I received my report and my award letter to say I have been awarded it until January 2025.
