Hi my name is Georgie and I am so pleased that I found this community.
I appealed a decision on rent benefit at UC last year and won the appeal.
I have now been informed by DWP that UC didnt let them know that I have won and are trying to collect £11,628.26 that I don't owe!
I have all documentation from court appeal to prove my outcome and offered to send a copy to DWP but they can only accept it from UC.I am being ignored by UC and it's now been over 4 weeks trying to get this resolved.
I want to sue them but not sure where to turn. My blood pressure is 192/90 and I am being monitored by GP to avoid hospitalisation.
Any advice from you would be gratefully received x

Hi and welcome to the community

I'm not sure anyone will be able to help as it is probably too complex for Internet forum

You should get some expert advice from cab or welfare rights

But others will respond and hopefully can help

Hello @georgie59 and welcome to the community :)

Sorry to hear about what you are going through at the moment, it sounds really stressful. Having won the appeal, that should have been the light at the end of the tunnel for you but it's a shame that the issues have carried on.

It's concerning to read about your blood pressure, however I'm glad that your doctor is aware of it and is monitoring you. Do ensure that you get in touch with them if you ever have any concerns about your health.

Getting some professional advice with the best way to proceed sounds like a good idea, as it seems like a difficult situation to handle. Additionally, if you wanted to make a complaint at all about how this has been handled you can find information about the DWP's complaints procedure here.

This makes no sense because UC is part of DWP. You need to send them the decision letter from the Tribunal.

As poppy says, UC is part of DWP. The tribunal service should have informed DWP and probably did. I would let UC have a copy of the tribunal decision. If you have access to a JobCentre you could take the paperwork in and ask them to scan them.
