Did you add all that information down when you filled out the form? The assessment isn't there for them to write what you said verbatim. It's for them to gather more information. The report is then written and is their opinion based on everything you wrote in the form and what you said during the assessment. For the MR ... for example, why can't you prepare a meal? Why is it dangerous for you to complete this activity? What exactly happened the last time you attempted it? Did anyone see it, where were you and what the consequences were.Just telling them you can't do an acitivity because it's dangerous isn't going to help. Please also bear in mind that using an oven isn't part of the descriptors and neither is carrying things such as pans and plates around the kitchen. Using a hob/microwave is but to use the microwave, you must be able to chop/peel and open packages. This activity considers the claimants functional limitations in their ability to prepare food and not the claimant’s lack of skill or opportunity to learn.

Yeah I did add on my form why it’s dangerous for me to cook. I’ve set myself and tea towels on fire about due to lack of care or just being busy headed. If I cook I get such anxiety about touching meats and over cook things and ended up not eating. I also get ocd for checking dates so it’s much easier for my husband to cook. And everything I put on the form I added a clear Description as to why.So I have a driving license and I hardly drive due to overwhelm of anxiety… I’ve never drove on the moter way … I prob do 3 miles a week. And I’m never on my own.I’ve also said how I sometimes don’t eat due to anxiety I have…. How it effects me and how.I went to main stream school… I struggled massively I didn’t get gcse … but because I went to mainstream school I’m fine lol.I stay in my house I barely see anyone. My dad will visit me… I spend my days worrying.I can’t eat fruit or some textures of food because of the ASD. I’d added reasons why… my husband has to promt me to eat a lot.The form I sent off was packed full of info.
I have a huge fear of the doctors.. so much that if I have to go for what ever problem I may have I’ll have a massive anxiety attack.
anything to do with health freaks me out.I went thru sessions of lift and it set me off more. This was when ASD was mentioned. My gp Referred me 22 months later I had a series of assessments which were really difficult. I got my results and I was shocked. 30 years I’ve struggled and just thought ok that’s just how I am.My biggest trait is anxiety and ocd and a few other things.I have terrible thoughts I offen make myself sick I told her all this.My anxiety got really bad after my daughter was stillborn in 2011 i struggled to cope with the change… that’s when I saw the gp and she said I had anxiety from the impact it had on me… I had a Social worker when I was 15 for anger and it was never picked up on then.
I scored 188 for ASD and I’m also being tested for adhd as well.I was fully open with them I’ve been here before just for anxiety so I knew what to expect but even with all the info I’ve given and paper work it still makes me feel uncomfortable the stress I’ve had these last 6 months with this hanging over my head. But I won’t stop. Gotta keep telling my self every day is a new day1 -
How are things going with the MR @Tb040511?
Do ask if we can help with anything, as we're here to support you. It's good to hear that you're seeing the positive side in challenging this decision, that will be really helpful0 -
Is it better to ask for MF by phone or post? Thanks0

Good morning @Tb040511 how did you get on with the MR form ? You will probably not hear back from the DWP for sometime but unfortunately this is completely normal. It is also possible that however clearly you have stated your case the DWP will not change their decision. Unfortunately this is not unusual either but remember that the online community are here to support you and to hang on in there. Keep in touch and please keep us updated- if you would like to !1
