MR decisions can take up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer. You may want to ring PIP to ask if they received the request, assuming you sent it through a letter.New claims for tax credits are no longer possible because UC has replaced it. Whether you're entitled to UC will totally depend on your circumstances. UC is means tested, if you live with a partner you claim as a couple and your joint circumstances will be taken into consideration.New style ESA is a contributions based only benefit. If your health condition limits your capability to work and you've paid the correct amount of NI contributions from working in tax years April 2019 to March 2021 then you can claim with a fit note from your GP.New style ESA is not part of UC so it will not change to this. It is also paid for 1 year unless placed into the Support Group and then it's paid for as long as you remain in that group. If you claim both ESA and UC together the ESA will be deducted in full from any UC entitlement.0
