No, that's not right. Usually money owed is paid first then 4 weeks later you receive your first 4 weekly payment. You need to ring PIP.
    Telephone: 0800 121 4433
    Textphone: 0800 121 4493
Relay UK (if you cannot hear or speak on the phone): 18001 then 0800 121 4433
British Sign Language (BSL) video relay service if you’re on a computer - find out how to use the service on mobile or tablet
Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm
    Find out about call charges

Hello and welcome to the community @jungle2505 and thanks for reaching out with your query, I've moved it over into our PIP category so that it's easier for our members to share their thoughts.

Do you feel comfortable giving PIP a ring? If not, someone else can make the call on your behalf, as long as you are sat with them :)

Well the decision maker phoned me on Monday asked a few questions but asked twice me if I can handle a large amount of money if it went into your bank. Also said it could go to someone else to be audited. So maybe being assessed ? I don't really know.

If you said you can't handle a large amount of cash they will pay you in installments instead of lump sum Especially if they think you vulnerable. I had the same phone call September last year and I said I wanted lump sum so I got over £5000 3 days later.Sometimes they won't pay a lump sum if they think you got severe cognitive issues or have severe mental illness or learning difficulties. My Grandmother also only got installments and she wanted the lump sum to go on holiday. They said no because of Alzheimer's.(she was living alone at the time) Because I had a carer I received all the money. Sometimes you get a choice. Either you said no to the lump sum or they don't think you can manage your finances. You have been awarded though because you got £627 which is full monthly award. I have no idea what kind of audit they would be doing.

Unfortunately, they can use any backdated money to pay back what you owe them and this includes disability money.

You must owe the DWP a lot of money if they took it all. From what you said in your first post you would have got a few thousand. I've never heard of that amount being taken before. I owed DWP £800 but it wasn't taken off my PIP or the lump sum, it was taken off my ESA in installments. Maybe UC works differently. Sorry
