Hey everyone
As some will know a few months ago I had a home assessment from Accessible Homes and was told my current flat is no longer suitable as it can't be adapted and they were putting me as a Band B Medical for a Bungalow(Only 36 but Medical removes the 60+ age restriction).
So it's been 12 weeks since I was awarded Band B Medical and I've already shot up the list, I was coming 10th first few weeks but now 2nd and 3rd, We did get an offer of a lovely Bungalow but unfortunately the area was terrible as we decided not to take it, I spoke to the lovely lady dealing with my case the other week and she said it shouldn't be much longer as we are pretty much at the very top of the list and with the new ruling that disabled people get priority for Bungalows over the Elderly it really speeds things up.
She explained that they hadn't awarded Band A to anyone for a long time so Band B Medical was the highest priority followed by Band B so that's very reassuring.
Now it's just a matter of waiting for Bungalows to come up that we like and placing the bids, She did say it would probably be another month or two and we are at the point we should be selective and only bid on ones we would actually want.
My file states it must have a private front and back garden(Thankfully 90% of them here have that) and must be very spacious for a wheelchair needed in the future(again 90% here meet this criteria) they will fit a wet room and separate bathroom before we move in and any other adaptions that will be needed, so feeling very positive about the future now more so now we know we are at top of the list.

Teddybear12 said:Hi @Luchia Sounds really positive. Fingers crossed you do not have to wait to much longer. Take care.
I know it will likely be a few more weeks/months but it’s feel very positive now, we have shot up the list so now it’s a matter of waiting and bidding on any Bungalows that we like, I must admit I am quite nervous about moving but I’m sure it will all be worth it in the end -
Sounds like things are on the up for you @Luchia
