Engaging with others Face to Face

One of my friends is doing a PIP claim and they were asking me if engaging with someone on zoom is classed as engaging with someone face to face. As this is their only methods of connecting with others?

and what about text messaging

The clue is in the activity "face to face." Therefore a zoom call or text messaging is not considered in this activity.

I did figure that but when I tried to research a bit there was tribunals about texting. I’m not that clued up on it all.

    Thanks, poppy.

This sounds really confusing for you @bluefox and understandably so. Has it been clarified and cleared up for you now?

The descriptor has always confused me. So if you don’t go out much, could you argue that social anxiety prevents you from engaging with others face to face?

It will depend on the reasons why a person doesn't go out. For example, if someone is claiming PIP for physical reasons and this prevents them from going out, they wouldn't score points for engaging with others.
An inability to engage face to face must be due to the impact of impairment and not simply a matter of preference by the claimant.
