I live in assisted living & am compelled to have my door unlocked from the inside and I wonder if this is the case with assisted living in general?

Hi @matthewkevin84 :) Thanks for posting about this.

Just so I can make sure I'm understanding you correctly- are you saying that you're not currently able to unlock your door from the inside?

Yes this is the case, I am unable to lock myself inside my flat.

Hmm, I'm not sure either @matthewkevin84! I'm heading off for the day shortly, but have marked your thread as 'unanswered' to remind me to come back to it when I'm next in.

My first thought was that this sounds like a possible fire risk.

Have you spoken to the people that manage your assisted living accommodation about this?

@matthewkevin84 Hi there, I hope you are having a nice Monday so far.

I just wanted to check in to see if you'd got any further with this issue? Were you able to discuss your door locking arrangements with the manager[s] of your assisted living space?

I can absolutely understand your position, so it would be worth starting the conversation if you haven't already to hopefully get some answers.

Take care and we're here anytime you need us.
