Hello, i have been claiming lwcra for about 2 years but recently my partner has been awarded the same benefit.
My question is we are owed a years worth of back pay but im worried that their going to shaft us by saying well she already claims it so up yours lol. Has anyone had the same situation and do you think they will or we will recieve the money that we are owed. I have been caring for my partner for the last year too and never received anything for it as we were waiting for his assessment.
Thank you for any help

If you are on a joint UC claim only one LCWRA element is payable even if you both have LCWRA status. If you are already receiving LCWRA then no additional money is currently owed.louhoad14 said:. I assume you are waiting to a PIP assessment. If your partner gets awarded PIP you will be able to get the carer element for looking after him and he can get the LCWRA element instead of you.0 -
