Hi..
I wonder if anyone can help or point me in the right direction. I have severe osteoporosis arthritis and limited mobility. My knees, hands and spine are main concerns. Recently My PA left due to pregnancy she was with me for 3 years and everything was running smoothly. Due to where I live (30 minutes from nearest train or tube) it was difficult to find another PA due to time allowances. On the first assessment a plan was devised for all current needs to be outsourced - it was cost and time effective with no additional cost. A second assessment was then undertaken with Direct Payments. During this assessment it was verbally agreed and emailed from SW and DP that plan was agreed and waiting for approval from management. I then received another appointment for another assessment. The SW came with a colleague. When I saw the report I was mortified. It was basically a character assassination and completely untrue. I have complained and sent evidence (which they already had - Medical reports and X rays) Rooms were entered without my permission as was evident from the report. I have been without assistance for 6 months. I have been advised to seek legal representation for libel, data breach and no care package for 6 months. Can anyone suggest a Lawyer in the London area? Many thanks.,,,

Hi @Rosebud1012, I'm really sorry to hear of your predicament, it is abominable behaviour by Social Services.
I hope you do manage to take them to court!
You could call the Disability Law Service, based in London SE11.
Their telephone number is 02077919800. I believe they open at 10am.
If they can't take your case on, which would usually be free of charge, they may be able to suggest another solicitor. Good luck and I hope you receive the help you need as soon as possible.

Hi @Rosebud1012, has there been any progress in your search for a solicitor?

Did you lodge a formal complaint with the Council?
If you did and you are not satisfied with their reply, you can complain to the Health and Social Care Ombudsman.
