I am currently SE and have been for years, I had my SE eligibility interview in February which determined I was gainfully SE and set my income floor. I have just received a message in my journal asking me to attend an interview next week, to establish what iv done to meet my MIF ( iv always exceeded it). Is this normal, to be called in periodically?? My automatic response is panic  :'(

I don't think that's normal or correct if you're meeting or exceeding your MIF in every assessment period.
What is your MIF set to? I wonder if it's because of the change in amount for AET from this week

@Biblioklept its set at around 750 but I have been earning close to double that, so it may be to reset my MIF??

That's really weird then, have you asked on your journal why you need this meeting @sammyb180984??

The MIF and the AET are completely separate. The AET is fixed whereas the MIF will depend on the claimants circumstances.

Note that you don't have to do anything to meet your MIF. What the MIF means is that if your actual income is less than the MIF then the MIF will applied when calculating the UC amount, if your earnings exceed the MIF the actual earnings will be used. If you are treated as gainfully self employed you have no work or work related requirements and UC doesn't actually care if you meet the MIF or not.

Sorry to jump on here, I recently wrote about struggling with the cost of living etc and work… I’m really not in a place to do so because, I’m just not.

However my partner has considered jobs like Amazon flex or Hermes (evri) delivering parcels he is also LcWRA. We would obviously report a change of circumstances.

It’s a fleeting thought but not one we’re wanting to jump into without good information.

Minimum income floor what is it and how does it work…

Can you give me examples, please in laymans terms because. I really struggle understanding.

    Thank you

@jamrumples as he has LCWRA the MIF will not apply to him. He will be able to earn a certain amount of money each month before the 55% deductions apply. If you claim for help with the rent the work allowance is £344, if you don’t then it will be £573/ month.
He will need to report his earnings and expenses on his journal on the last day of his assessment period.
He should also be aware that if the work he does contradicts the reasons why he was found to have LCWRA the decision could go against him when he’s next reassessed.

Thank you poppy. It doesn’t contradict. I don’t think, hard to know how the DWP see it though isn’t it.
