People with one of 70 neurological conditions could get up to £156 a week through PIP

I wonder if anyone can comment on why the media have been reporting quote: 'People with one of 70 neurological conditions could get up to £156 a week through PIP'.  It seems to go against the rationale behind PIP - as opposed to DLA - that it is not a diagnosis but the way your condition affects your daily life.

Though it says 'could', doesn't this announcement in the press give potential claimants the wrong idea that by merely having one of the conditions listed may secure you PIP ?

These kinds of articles are quite often misleading I find unfortunately @Jonnyc! I think I saw the article you've referenced here, and I do think they can mislead people into thinking that certain diagnoses guarantee a PIP award.

A case of misleading 'fake news' - as far as I can see there has been no specific announcement from DWP regarding neurological conditions. As you say Deppi, it must be a question of getting 'clicks' - nothing more. It shows you where the ill/disabled stand in the eyes of the press.
