Good afternoon @rightknight hows things been ??0
-
I've just sent you an email from community@scope.org.uk @rightknight, so please do keep an eye out for that
How did you meeting with HR go today?0 -
I’ve just got home, I sat in a car park for 2 hours. I then went to a support cafe and spoke with a volunteer. I never made it to my workplace but let them know. I couldn’t face being here which is hard because it’s where I live, so I traveled to my parents and just returned now.I’m meeting hr tomorrow morning but it’s clear I need to get out asap as I can’t go back to how I was feeling.0
-
I have my meeting in 10 minutes. I can’t keep doing this. I don’t think I can stay in this job any longer. For my health I think I need to have closure on this.
I don’t know what the future holds but this is just not something I can keep going through.0 -
I think your right @rightknight bless you - hopefully you will get help on the home front - but know one should have to feel like this going into work - good look go into the meeting now x1
-
@rightknight Whilst in the meeting why not talk about the housing situation? Good luck and let us know.2
-
Wow, that was tough. Righty or wrongly I have just told them I can’t see a way past this. I’m about to give up everything I have worked for. My job means so much to me and it’s something I have loved and enjoyed.0
-
Bless you that sounds hard but it's not helping your health at the moment and that's more important.
Sorry i can't remember how far in the process you are but as @janer1967 as always said please don't just resign see what the options are - i was like you with my own job and i found the hardest thing was telling them i couldn't do the job again, i think once i and the firm realised that i actually felt better mentaly as i was so worried i was letting the firm down. I am coming to the end of my process just one more meeting(hopefully) to agree with what i am leaving with ie tiers that's involved with ill health retirement. Keep with the group you will get lots of advice and support that you need at the moment - i promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel, just takes a little time.1 -
Thanks. That is really nice of you to share that with me. I’m going to be signed off again but I think it’s much clearer that I’m not going to return. I need to sleep now as I’m emotionally done in.0
-
You've done the worst bit now so rest your brain.1
-
I hope that you have a good sleep @rightknight
Well done for being honest with them. Hopefully this is the first step to you finding a positive way forward!

Hello @rightknight, I’m so sorry hear you are facing such difficult decisions and the impact this is having on you.
How did you get on back at work? I hope it better than you hoped.
if still back at work perhaps they could support you with a work buddy to help with the stressful situations. Have they let you go back on a phased return with reduced hours/job demands? Or a change of work or area of work to avoid the conditions affecting your MH.
If the return to work is making things worse, you could consider staying on sick until you feel more able to return. Instead of resigning you could consider staying on sick until they terminate your employment through ill health/capability. In the latter you may get a payment from work (depends on how long you’ve worked there) and I believe better when claiming benefits.Take care and best wishes1 -
Today I handed my notice in! I can’t be here anymore as it’s causing me too much distress. We are applying for housing support and work wise I will be applying for jobs in a new career.Thank you all for your help and support on here.
I’m broken at the moment but I need to focus on getting out of this situation.
Thanks again1 -
Good luck @rightnight1

Best of luck with housing support and applying for jobs in a new career. Do you know what your new career might be yet?
Take care for now and we will look forward to hopefully hearing from you again soon1 -

Wow what a couple of weeks. I have become obsessed with making changes in what people think of people in my position. I’m in an industry that doesn’t support mental health in any way. It is such a tick box exercise. I am like a man possessed to try and speak out. I’m worried about my own health but I can’t see anything other than to fight!!!!0
-
How are you getting on since leaving your job?0
-
Morning @rightknight sounds like you've got a battle going on, hows things been with you???0
-
Thanks all. I’m really worried about employment and housing but better in the fact I’m not going back to work. We will get sorted and things will be better!3
