Hi friends, I am a 48year old guy who unfortunately has been on a long long Journey, every time I feel it’s good or even manageable I am wrong ! It started 10 years ago when I developed an ulcer in the stomach region and by the time I had an endoscopy it was too late!!!
The ulcer had eaten through to the pancreas and that to sort the mess out they would have to take out half the stomach and see just how badly damaged my Pancreas was.

Well I was informed that I could end up requiring more surgeries due to Anastomoses (closing of openings to bowell) and adhesions, I have had to require 8 major surgeries due to these problems and it’s been horrible as I have not been feeling good, so with my last operation on June 30 this year they finally decided to remove the rest of my stomach so as you can imagine not good at all! So I leave hospital on July 16th this year and within 5 days I was back in with a twisted Bowell so AGAIN 🥹😳 more surgeries so again under the knife!!!!!! So it July 25 and I was allowed home. This has to be my last time surely!???????????
No a week later back in with blocked bowell again more surgery 😫😫😫😫. So I have loads more to say but I don’t want to bore anyone, I also had a feeding peg throughout all this and I was also diagnosed Severely Malnourished and I lost 40kg over the space of a few months. Obviously this has caused several issues both physically and mentally and I am really struggling but I didn’t know if I was entitled to any help so I have made a claim for PIP and had my assessment last week but I feel it went to easy as it wasn’t for long and I am very concerned she was just going through the motions with me and I am going to get rejected . I have been really really struggling with my mental health as well as the physical side of things.
cannot tolerate food at all and living on ensures.
is anyone having simular issues?

PIP does depend on how you are impacted on the activities it is assessed against, not on any particular diagnosis.

@KVB111 You will have to wait for a decision to be made which may indeed be an award. I’m sorry you’re feeling down about it but many have often had poor assessments but got awarded in the end. The step after that would be a Mandatory Reconsideration but until you have had your decision it’s all speculation.1

Thanks 🙏 bg, I know but it’s been draining and it’s good to find this site to speak with simular situations and we can ask questions regarding stuff we are all suffering from0

To take your mind off things until you have your decision and to help take your mind off your health conditions why not get involved with everything else we have on the forum, we are a friendly bunch. Check the coffee lounge for things to get involved in.0
