I have suffered with depression and anxiety for over 15years it's to the point iv not left the house in over 2 years. I was awarded pip last month. And pip did contact my GP for my medical records. In my award notice they put down as they have gone off my medical records aswell as my phone accessment . Hope this helps1

@bluefox I don’t work atm, job centre done a capability for work assignment and I was awarded LCWRA, the last time I worked was for a couple of months in 2020 in between lockdowns but that job stressed me to high hell1

@poppy123456 I didn’t realise it was just a questionnaire, all I know is I ticked something to consent for them to contact the gp and I probably didn’t read that part properly because I always tick yes to contact with the gp even though mine are pretty useless since I’ve been registered with them 2 years and never seen a single dr only ever been called1

Although you agree for them to contact them it doesn't mean they do.

@poppy123456 I don’t know if they contacted mine or not, Bluefox was saying they didn’t know what evidence to gather and I was saying I didn’t send any, only ticked the consent box for contacting my GP.0

bluefox said:poppy123456 said:Although you agree for them to contact them it doesn't mean they do.No. My review last year the only medical evidence i sent was a OT report and a repeat prescription list. The rest of my evidence was anecdotal. From this i had a paper based assessment.Medical evidence isn't really needed for a successful PIP claim.0

It didn't give much detail at all on it but i sent it anyway. Actually, thinking about it there was no assessment report written because my file wasn't even sent to the health assessment providers. The decision maker made a decision based off what i sent and the assessment report from my assessment back in 2016.

MrsCactus9 said:I have depression and anxiety, my main issue is anxiety and I am now getting lower rate daily living PIP. It’s how the condition affects the person, not what the condition is. I’d advise them to apply regardless of what others have said they can or can’t get. Everyone is different and every decision maker is different so it’ll all boil down to that.0
