I'm with E.on Next and got an email in September telling me I'm entitled to the vouchers but, as of today, I haven't received anything. I contacted them by email and no reply. I tried Twitter and was told they've been sent out and I will get mine on Wednesday. It's now the end of the month and still no joy  :'(

Are you sure you haven't received it in the post and missed it thinking it was junk mail? I was listening to the news this evening and it said on there that there's thousands of people that still haven't used their vouchers that they've been sent. Just thought i'd check that you aren't one of them.
Yes poppy, nothing here. Even if the neighbours took my mail they can't use the voucher. Also my electricity is with Edf but I had zero communication from them. If E.on sent me the email by mistake without checking that I only have gas with them then it's all up in the air. I think the government here made a huge mistake to give the money to the suppliers but would everybody had used the money to top up their gas/electricity? I doubt it. Anyways I will chase both my suppliers to, at least, make sure one of them has my voucher.

The vouchers are for your electric so you should receive them from EDF and not Eon. You need to contact EDF.

Sorry for the delay in replying, I've received my latest bill from EDF with the £66 deducted but not really helpful for me to heat the flat unless I use the electric oven :(

The discount is for electric. If your electric isn't a pre payment meter then you won't receive the vouchers. I assumed your electric was prepayment meter as you said you were waiting for the vouchers.
If you pay electric by DD and it was reduced by £66 then you can use that £66 for your gas.

My electricity is not on pre payment and no DD, I pay the bill when I get it that's why it was deducted from the latest bill I suppose. It's the gas that's on pre payment - was there when I moved in and, unfortunately from a different supplier.

If you have a traditional pre payment

You’ll get the discount as either:

    • an automatic credit when you top up at your usual top-up point
    • a voucher
I had a problem which might affect others, solved in my individual case, in a way that won't work for everybody with the problem.

Wishing to postpone paying higher electricity prices that I anticipated would come in on 1st October, I followed certain Ofgem advice.  During September, I topped up with £250 and then another £255 at the old prices, before the new prices were announced.  With more than £225 on my meter and £255 on my key, I couldn't use the first £66 electricity top-up voucher when that arrived in October.  I didn't want to use it either, because that would trigger an increase in the prices charged by the non-smart electricity pre-payment meter, devaluing the credit on the meter and the key that I'd bought in September at the old prices.  The voucher had an expiry date, which would have passed before I would be able to use it.

Unfortunately, I don't have a prepayment meter for my gas, so I started being charged the new gas price on 1st October, unable as I was to top-up my gas with £500 or so, postponing the gas price rise too until the £500 credit had run out.  But a fortunate side-effect of this misfortune was that I was at least able to ask my supplier to cancel the electricity top-up voucher and to credit my gas account instead.  I had to write to the special administrators to get my supplier to comply with these instructions, and I'm going to have to write in every month, asking for the latest unwanted, unusable electricity top-up voucher to be cancelled and for my gas account to be credited instead.  But I can live with that.

If I hadn't had a credit meter for my gas rather than a prepayment meter such as I have for my electricity meter, I suspect I'd be keeping unwanted electricity top-up vouchers past their expiry dates, and later trying to get them replaced by fresh vouchers with later expiry dates.

The support is only provided to electric bills (on the grounds that most people have electricity, not everybody has gas). Because you electricity bill has been reduced you have had to pay less, you can use the saving to pay towards gas charges if you wish.

I realise this thread is a couple of months old now, but just wanted to pop the following opportunity here in case it's of interest:

One of my colleagues at Scope is working with a journalist to present the results of some work we've done around energy bills. They're looking to speak to someone who's gone into arrears, and ended up being moved onto a prepayment meter by their energy company.

If anyone's experienced this, and would like to find out more about the opportunity, please get in touch with me by commenting here, privately messaging me, or emailing me at community@scope.org.uk :)
