Pip backpay wrong??

Hi my dad has just been awarded pip at a rate of £637 a month, he applied in may and got a text on Monday saying he got it, anyway he got his back pay today which was only £337 I thought he'd be due a much larger lump sum 🤔am I wrong? Any ideas? Thankyou
