Freedom pass support

I have a complications case in which I have been under freedom support basically all my life but they've now decided to reassess me & are requiring me to attend an appointment.
I feel my freedom has already been taken away & I am suffering tremendous anxiety. The procedures they've mentioned they will do I feel work completely against my conditions which will mainly present as invisible.
I've been avoiding all social situations lately. I'm struggling with severe CPTSD, amongst other conditions that make it difficult for me to even think about getting to the centre, let alone the actual appointment to the point I'm barely able to eat or drink now from the complete turmoil it's giving me.
Is there anyone who could support me, please.

Hello @KiaZ, I'm really sorry to read how much you seem to be struggling. Can I ask what sort of support you're receiving with your mental health at the moment? Do you have any friends and family around you at all?
How soon is your assessment?1 -
Kind of you to get back to me Adrian.
I recently had a couple of mental health assessments for support for my CPTSD & am currently awaiting group therapy classes.
My assessment is meant to be near the end of this month. I say meant to because again I honestly don't see how I will make it to this appointment the level of distress I'm feeling over it.
I have family yes, but I have not been sharing these things.
Just dealing with it on my own right now.0 -
Will you be having anyone come with you to the assessment at the end of the month, @KiaZ. I completely understand being worried about attending, but it might help to have someone come with you.
It's a lot to shoulder by yourself, do you think you might feel able to talk to them at any point?0 -
Hi. Thanks for responding Adrian. Sadly the anxiety and stress of it made me so ill I had no choice but to postpone it.
Unfortunately I realise just the other day too that a gps rushed response to my medical needs didn't help my case at all which is why I think I'm being made to go in instead of do telephone.
I've never been into my gp for any appointments with the gp, infact just a couple of months back I called them because I was going without medication simply because I just couldn't go to make the request. I even remember ending up breaking down & crying on the phone yet Unfortunately he must has completely forgotten about my difficulties because he ticked yes about me being fine to travel there. It's very upsetting.
My fault for thinking the doctors would even remember me when they've probably not even seen me once & in every telephone consultation I speak to somebody different.
I even had diagnoses missed out completely.
But I couldn't even begin to know how or even find the energy to fight for my rights right now, that's the sad part of it all.
I moved the assessment so far away so I don't have to deal with it, that's how difficult it is for me that I'd rather go without.
I wish these people knew.
And no, I am sadly still quite in denial when it comes to being disabled and outside people day ri day people & people in my life.
I just do everything to not highlight it or hide away so I don't have to.
Hoping to get passed that.
Definitely didn't help having work staff make me feel terrible for having conditions.
Anyway, I think this community will be a positive step for me 😊
So far I'm getting such lovely kind messages from people 🥰
Thank you again. Means alot0 -
If you're unhappy with the care you've been getting from your GP, but don't know where to start with challenging this, I'm wondering if you might like to get in touch with PALS (NHS website) @kiaz?PALS provides help in many ways. For example, it can:
- help you with health-related questions
- help resolve concerns or problems when you're using the NHS
- tell you how to get more involved in your own healthcare
- the NHS
- the NHS complaints procedure, including how to get independent help if you want to make a complaint
- support groups outside the NHS
I hope that the community can be a positive step forwards for you too

Thank you @Tori_Scope
I'm quickly finding out so many ways of doing things & getting support in short while of being on here.
It's do challenging finding & understanding all these things when not so well so it means so much you've no idea ♥️0 -
It's no problem at all @kiaz0
