PIP award and review process.

Hi, I applied for PIP on 14/09/2021 and was told I was not eligible. I asked the DWP for a mandatory reconsideration and again was not awarded PIP. I then asked for an independent tribunal to review my application and the outcome was I was awarded PIP on 10/10/2022. This has been a very long and anxiety provoking process which I am glad has been resolved in my favour. I have been awarded pip until 13/09/2024 and my award letter states that the DWP will contact me after 13/09/2022 to ensure I am receiving the right level of PIP.
I would like to know of peoples experiences of having their PIP renewed. Once you are in receipt of PIP is it more likely that your PIP will be renewed (my condition is not going to get better and will likely get worse)? Is the review/renew process over the phone or an assessment form? If anyone would be willing to share their experiences I would be most grateful.

Some are and some aren't. My personal experience with my own claim and my daughters is that each review has been successful. I've been claiming PIP since 2013 and my daughter since 2017.The most important thing to remember is that you fill out the forms with as much information as possible, without telling your life story. Include a couple of real world examples of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each descriptor that applies to you.Remember, your current award was given by a Tribunal so you need to keep this in mind when filling out the forms.0
