Pip Report

Afternoon folk. I got my PIP decision text last Friday, and my letter today. The person who has written my decision has down played everything I said to the assessor and blatantly contradicted themselves saying I told them about my medication being upped for my anxiety to then say 4 sentences I don’t take any medication for my anxiety. I’m not really sure what to do. I’m not unhappy with the standard Daily living money (some is better than none) I’m just so upset that what’s been written isn’t the full truth of what I said and how they’ve contradicted themselves. Any advice please? Thank you!

The question to consider is whether or not the award is appropriate. If you think you should have scored more points such that you should be entitled to a higher award then you can request a Mandatory Reconsideration asking them to review the decision. You need to make sure the points system.
If you think the award is appropriate then ignore the fact that you disagree with some of the letter.0 -
Thank you @calcotti I hadn’t fully thought of that. I think because I was (and I am) grateful for any award at all I wasn’t sure what my next step should be. I do feel I scored low on some points that probably should have been higher based on what I know I can & cannot do, which I felt at the time I explained in full to her my short falls and I don’t think they wrote down the full extent.0

Do you fully understand the descriptors and the criteria? Thinking you should have scored more points doesn't mean it's possible. When you have the assessment it's not there for them to write down what you said verbatim, it's for them to gather more information about how your conditions affect you. They then write the report which will be their opinion based on everything you wrote in the form and what you said during the assessment. Before doing anything else i'd advise you to have a read of this. https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-independence-payment-assessment-guide-for-assessment-providers/pip-assessment-guide-part-2-the-assessment-criteria

Thank you @poppy123456 I have had a read through and I’ll probably look to some family to help me understand better some of the points before I do anything else0
