Hiya, there seems to be a lot of confusion online and on Facebook groups. I was told that because I had submitted my forms the extension wouldn’t apply to me…
My original questions was, would I get an extension if my award was already extended due to COVID- 19. I was sent the forms in July 2022 and my award is ending May 2023, the call handler on the PIP said I wouldn’t be able to get another extension? I’m just trying to figure out what is going to happen…

They have been extending awards further if the decision isn't made by the time your PIP is due to end. This won't happen until much closer to the award ending for your existing claim.Best thing to do with those dreadful facebook groups is to leave because very often they given completely incorrect advice. There's a sticky thread at the top of the page posted by a member of the scope team regarding this, you can view it here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/95440/dwp-confirms-it-is-increasing-the-automatic-extension-period-of-existing-pip-awards-awaiting-review/p1
