Had my assessment yesterday! 🥹 Should I request a copy of the report?

Hi all!Â
I had my assessment (f2f) yesterday!! I see a few people on here talking about requesting a copy from the assessment provider! Should I phone when I know DWP have recieved it and request a copy? In case of needing to go MR?Â
Many thanks for reading, Amy x

You can but you need to be aware that it often causes a lot more needless anxiety than you may already be experiencing. Even if the report is good the anxiety levels still increase while waiting for the decision. If the worst happens, you don't need the report to request the MR because more often than not all it causes is a distraction.1

Ahhh! Thanks @poppy123456 I just saw some people had requested one but didn’t know wether too or not. I mean I’d rather not put myself under anymore stress! I’m on sleep tablets and still couldn’t get off to sleep worrying if I had done what I needed too at the assessment to get my point across. I took my cousin and he’s prettt confident I should get something! But you just never know with these assessors! So I probably won’t bother then. I mean it will come within my report and how they made there decision anyway, right?Â0

Your decision letter doesn't normally contain a copy of the assessment report, just the decision and points awarded by the decision maker.Â1 -
Thank you for clearing it up for me @Adrian_Scope 😊0

Just contacted them to see if they had the right mobile number for me as didn’t have a phone at time of application and they do. They have recieved my assessment 1 week ago (only had my assessment on Wednesday which baffled me lol) and was told I should hear within the next 3 weeks!ÂFingers crossed 🤞Â0

That 3 week timeframe is very optimistic. It’s more like up to 12 weeks, sometimes longer from when the report was returned to DWP.Â1

I had my assessment Monday, I told myself I wouldn’t get a copy of the report to avoid any further anxiety. But I couldn’t help myself so requested it yesterday so should be here within the next week. I suppose I was just eager to see if the assement lady was as genuine as she seemed. She seemed so lovely, compassionate and understanding. I have read some horror story’s about the reports following even the most kind and compassionate assessors. I need to stay off the internet but my anxiety doesn’t allow 😩 xx1

@orangefresh I have also now caved and asked for a copy! Although my cousin who came with me to the f2f assessment said he would read it and not tell me anything unless it was completely against something we said! Knowing me I can be a little impatient so probably will read it!ÂI never got a text from them to say they recieved my letter! Did you? I phoned yesterday and asked as had the assessment a week ago today and they said they got it last week! Maybe it’s a select few that get the text messages.ÂThis is my second time applying and first had a telephone assessment and thought she was lovely and understanding and reassured me a lot! Absolutely disgusted when it came through there was so many lies! That’s why at the face to face this time I took my cousin (my second carer with me)! So the horror stories are very real and that’s what’s scaring me again!ÂWish you all the best of luck and hope you get awarded what you need xx0

It's not their medical opinion. They do not have to have any medical knowledge of any conditions because PIP isn't awarded based on any diagnosis.
