My blood pressure was rising to 140/80 and I was asked to attend a clinic at my GP surgery with the pharmacist - who doubled the size of my Atenelol (that I have been taking for 10 years) - the result an INCREASED blood pressure (now average 160/90) - how can this be ?
    Now prescribed 50mg
Anyone else heard of increased dose of Atenelol having the reverse effect that it should have ?
I have another appointment with the pharmacist tomorrow morning !

I've not heard of a reverse effect on your blood pressure before. I know some people get reverse effects to medications for other ailments but that's strange considering you've been taking it for ten years.

How are you feeling now? Hopefully the appointment tomorrow morning goes better!

    That's good to hear :)

It is very strange, I'm sorry to say Wibbles, if you keep it up you may be subjected to government testing :D (I am joking, sorry if it doesn't land)

I have an ECG at my GP arranged a week after Christmas - hopefully that will allow them to figure out what is happening ?

Here is my ECG report - it is worrying me - because I have had no call/txt or email from my GP re the unconfirmed Left Ventricle Hypertrophy !
Are the other measurements OK ?
    Should I be concerned ?

Unfortunately we aren't medically trained so we can't advise you on that. Also I would just be careful on what you are sharing here because anyone can see it who's not in this community and use it anywhere.

As durhamjaide said, we aren't medically trained. But if you have your results and you have questions or would like a second opinion, your GP can refer you to a specialist (if you don't already have one) for one :)

I've done that a few times when I've had test results back.
