Hi

I have been reading some of forum posts, lots mention about getting decision by text message. Does this happen either way (Awarded or Not?)

My daughters anxiety is through the roof! It really is not helping her and her psoriasis is getting worse by the day! together with her mental health/Fibro/Arthritis and others she is really suffering at the moment.

Massive panic attack again today where she scared the life out of me as it seemed ages before she could catch her breath. I'm really worried as I go back to work on Monday and as we have said before we are really struggling (I'm 69 and my husband 71)

She has no other help, a friend has offered but lives quite a way and my daughter cannot afford the transport fees as her friend has no transport. We are already helping financially she has 2 children, mortgage and herself and what she gets to do this is not enough. I have also found out today that she is behind in utility bills due to her not having enough to live! She receives just over £1,100 a month for everything mortgage takes over half of that I really don't know how she has been managing since being widowed at the age of 38 in 2018!

She's never asked for anything even though there will have been times she has struggled, I'm sure. She has always worked until her breakdown and failing health, always been so independent. It's killing us seeing her like this.

Thanks for listening

I'm only aware of them sending texts if there's an award but the text doesn't go into any further details. Decisions can take 2-12 weeks, sometimes longer once the report is returned to DWP. If awarded money owed is usually in the bank before you receive the decision letter.
Did you refer her for a needs assessment as advised in your other thread? If you haven't then it will be worth you doing this.

    Hi
Thanks for your advice, Yes started the ball rolling for needs assessment.
Awaiting further information, someone has mentioned though that any further care needed she may have to fund herself?

    Thanks
    Joyce

If they decide that help is needed then they will also do a financial assessment on her. She will likely have to pay something towards any care she may receive as the majority of people do.
