If you've already received the decision letter then there's no need for a text. It's unusual to receive the decision letter before any money that's owed. If money is owed then you usually receive this first. However, if you're transferring from DLA then you won't be owed any money, even if the PIP award is higher. If there's money owed the decision letter should explain everything to you.0

The backpay I'm due is from the tribunal decsion and the letter I recieved doesn't have the dates I'll be paid, only that I've been awarded it0

In that case the advice is different because you didn't mention it was a Tribunal decision. As the decision was only made on 19th October i assume the letter was from the Tribunal. It wouldn't give any information about any payments on that letter. It's down to DWP to pay you any money that's owed. After a Tribunal win it can take anything up to about 8 weeks, sometimes longer to receive any money owed and about the same time to put your award into payment.0

Thankyou, does it usually take 8 weeks, or is it usually before0

Up to 8 weeks sometimes longer.0

Will I receive a phone call or text, or will they just put it in my bank0
-
They will contact you to ask you if you’ve either been in hospital or prison, which is standard procedure. Once this is done they will pay you what’s owed.
Do be aware that they have as much chance we do to appeal the decision. Before they can do this they must first request the statement of reasons from HMCTS. Once they receive this they need to find the error in law before they can appeal it.They sometimes request it but rarely appeal it. If they request it, it doesn’t mean they are appealing but it can delay them paying any money that’s owed.0 -
That's great, thankyou0

How long after the phone call to confirm prison/hospital stays, does the money get paid into bank0

Once payment is made it takes 3-5 working days to go into your bank. How long it takes to make that payment after those questions are asked, is anyone's guess.

@brad1234 Well done on being successful at tribunal. I can see Poppy has helpfully answered your questions, I hope this clarified the process from now on for you.
Please let us know how it goes and remember, our community is around 24/7 should you need to talk.
PS: I've tweaked the title of your thread to reflect your question and moved it to our PIP, DLA and AA category to help others spot it0 -

I got thr phone call telling me how much I was getting and when, and I recieved the backpayment at the beginning of this month, the process was quite stressful tho tbf0

I'm glad it's all come through for you now @brad1234, and I understand it is a stressful process yes, I remember how ill I felt getting my own PIP decision letter, so goodness knows how a tribunal feels!
Hopefully you can put it behind you now it's over0 -
