Hello I applied for PIP back in August and I received my assessors report 3 weeks ago. I contacted PIP today to see if a decision had been made and I was told I was rejected and I received 0 points and a letter had been sent out explaining everything.
I was only going for the daily living PIP but I really don’t understand how I can score 0 points , I’m the report the assessor is explaining everything that’s wrong with me physically or what I struggle with and then the next paragraph explains why I’m fine with it all. Example.
Ive got a medical condition which effects joints and causes fatigue and is incurable and requires hospital visits for treatment and joint pain is one of the symptoms as I struggle to tie my laces or do my buttons or cut up certain foods which was listed but then it states because I can cut the grass it shouldn’t make a difference even tho the mower is a push button so doesn’t really require grip strenghth?
My condition is monitored by the hospital who call me for appointments and then they conduct the treatment for me so I really don’t understand how I can get 0 points in that section also?
Ive gone back over each section and what I beleave I should score points for and it comes to 9 points.
Im stuck on 10. Making budgeting decisions , How I received 0 points on this is mind boggling. I have no bills in my name all through a family member , I have payment plans set up for payday loans , credit cards , catologues , CCJ , Even my own mobile which is a contract is not in my name and any shopping is purchased from a family member as anything money related I don’t deal with and if I go to the shop it’s just with a contactless card so isn’t even with cash.
Im waiting for the letter to come back to put in a reconsideration appeal.
Any advice much appreciated.

Although in the justifcation it says you stuggle with certain things this doesn't mean points should have been recommended for certain descriptors.Your next step is to request the MR which you should put in writing stating where and why you think you should have scored those points. Just telling them you can't complete an activity is not enough, you need to tell them why you can't do that. Include a couple of real world incidents of exactly what happened the last time you attempted each activity that applies to you. Adding detailed information such as where you were, what exactly happened, did anyone see it and what the consequences were.Having some understanding of the descriptors and what they mean will also help. Have a read of this. The most likely outcome of the MR will be the decision will remain the same. If this happens you can proceed to Tribunal. Timescales for MR is 2-12 weeks.
