Data protection

I get some support to help me around my home and to get out. I only been having the support since June. The support worker write in a book what they do each session. The start of this month an app have replaced the books. But the wood on the support workers own phones. is this a breach of data protection?

I been told there is password protected. But to me it is like taking a personal file out of work  in a lock brief case and you don't have the key.

No, it's not, a lot of companies are now changing to digital access rather than paper/books.

I can see why you might have concerns, as it's a personal device @harp. I'd imagine that they'll have some sort of personal device policy, along with the usual data protection stuff. Have you spoken to the organisation to see what they have in place to protect your data?

I had 2 policies which stated that they check the phones can be locked and about logging on for only 10 minutes.

There was nothing about the rest of the phone being checked beforehand and also if any info been left on it especially after the client stop using the service. I know at least one the support workers swap phones with one of the family. One of the concerns is they got location switch on.

There was no asking us clients whether we will give permission using this app on support workers own phones.
