So the UK is now, officially in recession again.
This is a matter of weeks since that Truss woman and her little friend, Kwarteng were planning on giving hundreds of millions of pounds away in reduced taxes to the, already "well off".
All that I can say is good riddance to bad rubbish.

Teddybear12 said:Hi @woodbine I think we are going to get spending cuts and tax increases. I am sorry but the Torys cannot have another PM it is a joke already. I was hoping tax bands would increase would appear this is not going to happen. So more people could be paying tax. Strikers should be aware of this .0

As I`ve said on here a few times, I don`t like blue, but I`d rather blue in number 10 than red. Yellow and green aren`t even worth thinking about. All politicians, regardless of colour, have the same thing in common: they are lying, two-faced, back-stabbing crooks who only want you when they want your vote, after that..... you don`t exist. As for tax rises, the (media) speculation is that the 50% tax band may be reinstated; I sincerely hope so.My personal feelings are:Local authorities will be given the green light to increase Council Tax by the maximum amount.I`m not sure about the 50% bracket, but I think taxes will be increased, which ones I couldn`t say.Something has to go; historically Tory targets are the military & emergency services........I really hope I`m wrong for all but the 50% bracket.0

I did hear about council tax may be hiked again, I wouldn't mind so much, but the council are only supplying very basic services, with lots of cuts and closures. Alot of library s have gone, the ones open are only open on certain days, all the elderly homes were closed and those relying on pull cord assistance were closed and given to a private company, who charge the earth. People in my area go around picking litter up daily and cleaning road signs, the council don't. Grass verges get mowed very little, Including parks. Bin collections went to 2 weekly instead once a week, and the cuts keep coming and privatisation, which allows them to make redundancies to their own work force.0

@Sandy_123 however councils do not work productive see all those working on roads etc 6 men watching 1 working
I worked for 2 councils after working in private sector and was so shocked about how many waste of time roles they employed. I worked for one hr team for 6 months and was so bored as there was nothing to do apart from take turn manning the helpline
The hr team used to cover schools and children's services as well as all other council workers. Bit schools went to academies and children service was outsourced so massive reduction in staff but the hr team was still using same number of staff in the team

Yes I worked for the council too for many years, saw what they waste money on, every year they would spend on things no one needed, just to get money for the budget. I went into town hall once about a wasp nest removal, which costs 35 or it did then. I kid you not the guy gave me a ticket, then five minutes later, slided to the end of the desk, then called my number.
Then told me they will emigrate.

Then told me they will emigrate. The same can be said for national government as wellI worked for MOD for almost 40 years and the waste of money was considerable in that too !!My wife worked for NHS too and told me stories such as her workplace being repainted twice in a month - due to the "colour being wrong" !I worked for a school after this and the waste continued - FULL price for Windows software and professional analysis software @ £500 - this went as soon as I discovered it - replaced with freeware that did a much better job for freeManagement was a STICK IN THE MUD and were aware but prefererred to stay with that way that its always been done, rather than try new methods0
