How To Tell Benefits Department About My Pension?
I am currently on PIP, Industrial Injury and ESA, I have the highest rate of PIP with both components, and I receive both income based and contribution-based ESA, plus help with council tax.
I will be receiving a pension soon, so I would be grateful if you could help me with some questions below:
1. Do I need to inform PIP and Industrial Injury if they are not means tested?
2. And what forms will I need to complete, or do I just ring them?
Also, how will this affect my money.
Thank you for your help

Is the pension a lump sum or a weekly monthly drawdown? If it's a monthly amount then any Income Related ESA you're claiming will be reduced £1 for £1.Any part of your ESA that's contributions based (£117.60/week Support Group) will not be affected if your pension is up to £85/week. For every £1 of pension over this amount then CB ESA will be reduced by 50p/week. Yes, you will need to report the changes to ESA.If it's a lump sum and it takes your total savings to more than £6,000 then there will be a reduction of £1/week for every £250 or part there of over that amount. For savings of more than £16,000 your ESA Income Related will end.Council tax reduction you will need to report the changes to your Local Authority, as they all have their own rules then i can't advise on that.PIP and IIDB is not affected.Just noticed that you had advice on this some weeks ago so please also refer back to that thread here. https://forum.scope.org.uk/discussion/95930/need-advice-about-my-benefits-and-pension-payments-please#latest

Hi Poppy, yes I did have advice which helped greatly i was just looking for slightly different help now regarding actually making the phone calls as i will be doing it this week.
Do i have to pay any ESA back at any stage for all the years i received it as i wasnt recieving my pension at the time?
With the benefits that are unaffected do i still need to inform them?
Will they send me forms to fill in or do i just inform them over the phone ?
thank you again, its putting my mind at rest =]

You won't need to pay any ESA back for the previous years. No, you don't need to inform PIP or IIDB because they are not means tested. You will likely need to send them details of your pension but i don't know if you'll need to fill out form but i suspect not.0
