Pip tribunal evidence

So long story short I told pip I can’t go out alone, they said yes you can, I appealed it to tribunal and my mum wrote an evidence letter explaining why I can’t go out alone and confirming she has to assist me and they responded saying they will not accept this as evidence as they are already aware of everything in the letter…. If they are already aware why am I having to argue all the way to tribunal?! Have they just completely sabotaged their own argument?

Hello @wills95
That sounds so frustrating, and like you said, it doesn't make sense to their argument.
Hopefully someone in the community could give a clearer answer, I was just wondering if you sent any evidence from your GP with your claim. as they can help you with that.1 -
I did try my GP but at the practice I’m with you just see whoever is available so the drs don’t really know you at all they just read what’s on the screen, at the initial time of assessment I was on waiting lists ect and still trying to come to a diagnosis but I was still on antipsychotic medication which the doctor informed them off, I have since sent in evidence of all my formal diagnosis ect but it’s very frustrating they can see I was on waiting lists and that I am on strong medication for both polar disorder yet they still denied it0

Deppi said:DWP makes no sense by design. They try to get you quit your claim before you get to a tribunal. Any little thing that wont match the script will get your claim denied or award you the minimum.
Take this for example: I was told I can mix with people face to face, because (according to DWP) i can mix with my own child. Who is 11 and I am a lone parent, and we live together. Go figure.
Dont give up. Mandatory reconsideration will be the same most likely. Tribunal will have a real Mental Health professional, and you will find understanding there. You can do all online, and have a hearing on the phone. Good luck.2 -
Good luck with your hearing @wills95. How are you feeling about it at the moment?
It sounds positive that you are trying to think positively. Please don't hesitate to let us know if we can do anything to support you0 -
How are you feeling about the hearing at the moment @wills95? It sounds positive that you finally have a date for it, at the very least.
Wishing you the best of luck with the hearing. I can hear how long this process has been for you.
Please feel free to let us know how it goes for you and if you need any further support in the meantime.
We are all here for you and listening to you. Take care for now and we will look forward to, hopefully, hearing from you again soon0
