How do you beat the winter blues?

Many of us are affected by darker days, and colder weather.
I recently bought a SAD lamp, to see if that helps.
I also try to make sure I get outside while it's lighter, or at least open my blind.

Usually having the heating on and getting nice and cosy and warm bit unfortunately we are having to find alternative ways to keep warm
My concern is some people will end up staying in bed to keep warm and the effect this could have on their mental and physical health

I am a firm believer of getting out in nature, my hubby and myself used to do most of our big walks in the winter months, my health has took a big dive the last couple of years but we still try and get out, even if its a drive to a local nature reserve and watch the birds on the lake.
I've heard the lights are good.0 -
I agree that getting out is usually a good idea, if possible @sueheath @janer1967 Being in nature is certainly good for my wellbeing, and helps me to get some daylight.
I worry about that too @janer1967, as I imagine many people will be spending more time in bed to try and stay warm.0
