Hi so I'm confused. Apparently I've been accepted for additional universal credit for and additional room for an adult and someone put on my universal credit journal *Please see attached decision letter. This decision is effective from 15/07/22; the 1st day of the assessment period in which you were entitled to PIP.
I've contacted the case manager to review for payment.
Thank you,
Universal Credit Decision Maker.
*So I'm just confused will I be getting backated and how much. And how much is this spare room element as it doesn't say

The change in your housing element will depend on where you live but will be backdated to 15th July. It will take them a while to work out was is owed.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.

https://lha-direct.voa.gov.uk/Search.aspxYou can look up the LHA for the number of bedrooms you previously got and the LHA for with an extra bedroom. The difference is the extra you will get.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK. -

If you had two spare bedrooms before you would have been required to pay 25% of the full rent yourself
If you are now treated as only having ne spare room then you will be required to pay 14% of the rent yourself.
The increase in the UC will therefore be 11% of your rent.Information I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Rules may be different in other parts of UK.
