I was diagnosed with diabetes and some mental health illness such as adhd and ptsd while I was on a fix term contract with the dwp. They gave me a warning due to time off even though letters and doctors notes were provided. This was in July 2022. I couldn't apply for a permanent job and they knew this would happen to me. No help from senior management .
I know I only 3 months from the date of leaving to appeal this. But I've not been in the right state of mind. Can anyone give me some advice on this. I'm really struggling to get somewhere.

Dwp do not deserve to just get away with there appalling behaviour.

Hi and welcome to the community
Unfortunately they still have a right to discipline for attendance regardless of providing a doctors note .

You should have appealed against the warning at the time asking for reasonable adjustments under the equality act allowing you more absence due to your health conditions

You could try and make a formal complaint about not being able to apply for permanent role due to this

A good source of help for employment advice is acas or if you are in a union consult them

@zizzi101 Hello there and a warm welcome to our online community this Thursday, how are you keeping?

I'm sorry to hear what happened at your former workplace. I understand how distressing that could be alongside dealing with your health conditions. In addition to the brilliant suggestions above, maybe give the Equality Advisory and Support Service a gander - they are especially trained in this area so will be able to go into your personal circumstances in more detail and direct you from there.

Please keep us updated and wishing you all the best going forwards. Take care.
