Hi all,
I have an upcoming universal credit work capability assessment, I’ve been told it’s a phone call. I have never had this type of call before, only a PIP one. I’m extremely nervous and I feel like I will be made to go into work again.

I have a lot of mental health and physical health conditions and working is just not an option for me anymore sadly, I was fired multiple times because of my health decline/ absences related to ill health. (Pretty much homebound at the moment) I’m not sure how to get this message across to the assessor.
I also have no idea what they’re going to ask me and it’s causing a lot of anxiety. Any advice would be very much appreciated and I hope everyone is having a good day.

The work capability assessment is similar to the PIP assessment, the only difference is the criteria and they will be assessing your ability to do any type of work.I can't tell you what questions they will ask because i don't know anything about your conditions and how they affect you.If you kept a copy of the form you filled in and returned (you should have) then have a read of this before the assessment so you can remind yourself of what you said. They will likely want to know what a typical day is like for you. Try not to answer any questions with just a yes or no and give as much detail as possible. The assessment can last anywhere from 20 to 120 minutes.0
