Don't be scammed this Christmas!

Today, on this community, I read that somebody had been contacted by the Benefits Agency to tell them they had been awarded a sum of money and to check that it was ok to pay this money into their Bank Account.

A couple of weeks ago I got an email telling me my Bank Card was coming up to the expiry date and that I should order a new one.  I was busy and I believe I went into the App to securely order a new card.  But I was busy so cannot be 100% sure.

My point is that it can be so easy to be scammed and especially at this time of year.

I don't want to scaremonger anybody.  However, it is better to be safe than sorry.

Stay vigilant and stay safe.

DWP do sometimes ring if there's an award been made, if the claimant has mental health issues and they think that a large sum of money will be difficult for them to manage so they will give them the option of being paid in smaller installments instead.
As for a bank, with mine at least when one card is about to expire they automatically send another without the need to order it yourself. Once you receive that one and use it your old one will automatically expire. If you don't use your new one by the time the other one expires once it expires you can no longer use it.

Thank you for reminding us @JustPete it's a very helpful to know if you didn't before.

They way technology works now, I always get muddled up with policy's and procedures.
