I don’t think it would mean that but just a loop hole . How many have a live in professional carer . Hopefully it’s not true but we need scope to clarify this .

You're welcome. The more I'm on the forum etc the more my fury at Labour grows to cold, hard stuff-them mentality. I voted for them. I believed no one could be worse than Tories. Labour isn't my natural political home but it's them or Tories were I live. I'm done with them - so are a lot of people I know, and it's not just disabilities but that's a large factor. I'm hearing people who have friends and family who are disabled and are incesed by this and genuinely furious and disgusted. I fully believe Starmmer and co will try to ram this through but I think they are underestimating how bad this will be for them, how much people will fight. Well, that's my hope.

There's a very interesting youtuber - garys economics, he's a young, former trader and has two philosphies 1) wealth inequality is at the heart of everything - it's driving the far right rise, the billionaire class, the rage people have, the rising 'isms' etc. That unless we tackle that no goverment of any type or affiliation will sort things out 2) it's no longer about voters who are labour v tories, red vs blue - the only dividing line should be the people who support a wealth tax on billionaires (he's very specific that it's to tax them on their assests not their income/earnings) verses people/govt that don't and he said what they've done - very, very succesfully is get people - red, blue, whatever political stripe, north, south, black, white, male, female etc that we fight amoung ourselves and that keeps the uber rich safe while they make more and more and more profits off us. It's basically his theory. It's interesting.

Have the reassessments for LCWRA started already, or will it be April 2026?

This is what I'm most worried about, I wont be able to cope with going through another reassessment, and it feels like there's a decent chance I'll be classed as fit for work or put into LCW.

I think the issue is that it's not what they say (or don't) it's what these reforms will do that is potentially illegally. This is what happened to the tories - they got taken to court and lost. From my understanding if that happens then they have to reppeal the law/policy.

So right now for example if this goes through, someone like me who scores mostly 2s and 3s and gets PIP under my next assessment my disabilities and illness haven't changed (they've actually gotten worse and I've developed another health condition), but if I don't get scored a 4 in any one catagory I will loose the whole of either my PIP or the daily living (mobility isn't affected) - so one day I'm deemed I need the help/support and the next with nothing improving I'm not. That is descrimination.

Another one is forcing people to go to face-to-face assessments reguardless of their disabilities and illness. Under the Disability Act 2010, you are legally allowed to ask for 'reasonable adjustments' and these include requesting a telephone interview, or perhaps them coming to you home if you can't travel.

Not even the govt can try moving the goalposts because it wants to. Wes Streeting can't just decide - or at the very least strongly imply that mental health (esp in young people) 'isn't a thing' because he doesn't believe it. The sick and disabled are a legally protected group, reguardless of what this govt believe and even we actually still have rights and if those are violated the govt has broken the law. If the govt insists on ramming this through individuals, charities and organisations will take them to court, and likely will win. The problem is that will take time - years and a lot of damage can be done during that time. That's why this has to be watered down or rejected by MPs, Lords etc - and one way is if we, charities etc keep pressuring them. Not even they are immune completely to the court of public opinion.

As far as i am aware most on LCWRA are still suspended, i have not heard any news about them starting up again.

Unless labour changes this in the coming weeks.

I would assume with the massive backlog and getting everyone on UC by December 2025/2026 you might be waiting awhile anyway.
