Child dla

Hi, my son who is 12 has had his child dla turned dwn he has a hearing aid its gone to a mandonatory reconsideration they declined it as he doesn't need care attention for a child same age as him. We have sent doctors letter as supporting evidence. Can someone tell what's next steps and has someone else got it for a 12yr old.

Your next step would be appealing to an independent appeal tribunal

You need to focus on what care & attention he needs above a child of the same age.

Hi @hi1983

That sounds very frustrating especially when you have sent supporting evidence.

If the DWP have denied DLA on mandatory reconsideration you can appeal the decision and ask for a tribunal.

The tribunal will look at your evidence and hear what you have to say and then make a decision.
